Sometimes life can get so hectic I don’t know which way is up, which means the small things that make me happy often pass me by. But, to make sure that doesn’t happen, I thought I’d share some of the things that have made me happy during the week, because sometimes it’s the small things that really matter.
For some reason, this week has gone incredibly quickly for me; I feel like last weekend was yesterday. Whilst the days have flown by, however, I feel like I’ve been less than busy and so also a little bored (I’m one of those people that needs to be busy, even though I moan about it when I am). These are the things that have kept me going this week:
The sun
Summer is finally rearing its head and I could not be happier if I tried. I love the sun and the warm and this year my pasty skin has actually decided to take on a healthy, tanned glow rather than a lobster red warning light look. I also love flowers, and summer is the time when everything is in bloom, something that never fails to give me a pick-me-up.
Cookies
I love to bake, so when my turn came round to whip up some sweet treats at work this week, I was armed and ready. Cue 3 types of cookie (raspberry and white chocolate, banana and fudge and double ginger, in case you were wondering) and a lot of them. Whilst Mary Berry probably wouldn’t be dead impressed with the presentation (there is a lot to be said for following the recipe…), they tasted pretty damn good and they made me a favourite at work and in class; don’t tell me I don’t know how to make friends.
Finishing projects
Today, we signed off a big old piece of work with a client, after almost 2 months of to-ing and fro-ing and waiting around. I’m pretty much just happy that I don’t have to think about it anymore.
Here’s to another sunshine and cookie filled week next week!
